The lakes in the valley invite you to swim, the mountain lakes and waterfalls are a wonderful destination for a daytrip. The relaxing and invigoration effect of water in a wellness area is undeniable and there is hardly a better thirst quencher than fresh well water.

Experience still water

Mountain lakes such as the Wildalmsee lakes near the hut Bamberger Hütte emanate a majestic tranquillity. They do not impress through their seize – it is the clear water in which the rays of sunshine refract and immerse these “eyes of the mountains” in shimmering colours.

This can also be experienced in the early morning at Salvensee lake and at Filzalmsee lake on the Hohe Salve. They are also easily within reach for families. This also goes for the small water reservoir at Kurzer Grund in Kelchsau. The alpine pasture valley also invites visitors to enjoy a leisurely hike along the river. The gently bubbling mountain stream has an invigorating effect. There is much to discover along the banks. – for instance, a host of herbs such as bear’s garlic, sorrel, sage or peppermint. The small brochure “Ideen, Tipps und Wissenswertes rund um die Kräuter am Wegesrand” ( “Ideas, tips and things worth knowing about the herbs along the wayside”) is available free of charge at the tourist offices.

Experience invigorating water

The spray at the Lechner Waterfall in the vicinity of Wörgl has an invigorating effect in hot summer days. The numerous swimming areas and bathing lakes promise more cooling down in the Hohe Salve holiday region.
