A magnificent castle, the Schloss Itter, is also the symbol of the town. It was first mentioned in documents in the year 1420 but the exact year where it was built is unknown.
In
summer Itter is ideal for hiking- and cycling tours or simply to relax in fresh mountain ar. Numerous mountain huts are waiting to be explored by you. Also in the town of Itter, hotels, guest houses, private rooms or farmhouses are there to accommodate you.
In winter : direct access to the biggest connected skiing area in Austria, the SkiWelt Wilder Kaiser - Brixental
In the winter the Salvista cable car takes you right to the heart of the Wilder Kaiser – Brixental Ski World. A lit-up toboggan run, sleigh rides, cleared winter hiking trails, cross-country ski tracks and many other winter sport and recreational facilities are available.
