Hundalm Ice & Dripstone Cave in Angerberg/Mariastein

Hikers will find a different kind of refreshment at the Hundalm, 1.520 metres above sea level. Even in high summer it is always around zero degrees in the ice & dripstone cave. The natural jewel offers a fascinating underground experience.

The tour leads through a narrow gorge down into the mountain, into the branched cave labyrinth. The really large and spectacular ice and rock formations are concealed deep inside the mountain. Eduard Türke from the national cave association in Tyrol knows:a visit is particularly advisable in spring when the cave displays the most bizarre ice forms.

How to get there:
Landgasthof Schlossblick Angerberg – Gatterer Kapelle – Buchacker-Alm – Buchacker Eishöhle. Hiking time: approx. 5 hours, accessible by foot only.
