Cross Country Skiing Tracks with a certificate of superior quality in Angerberg/Mariastein

Thanks to the fantastic co-operation between 70 land owners,

the Hohe Salve Holiday Region can now boast as being one of the top Cross Country Skiing Regions in the country thanks to the villages Angerberg and Mariastein.

The cross country skiing network of Angerberg/Mariastein is gaining popularity because of its tranquil peaceful setting away from the hustle and bustle of the skiing area. Nordic sports fans can also enjoy the almost 40 kilometres of excellently prepared floodlit night tracks, as well as the race competition track. That is why the team of the Hohe Salve Holiday Region have made a long term special effort in marketing this top Cross Country Skiing Region.

For the past twenty years the Tirolean Government have been awarding dedicated villages with certificates of superior quality for cross country tracks. The following standards have to be obtained: at least 3 double tracks (10km, 5km, and training tracks) which have to be excellently prepared and well signposted. The tracks are split up into three levels - easy, intermediate and advanced. The longer and more difficult the track is, the higher the grade of difficulty. Because the Cross Country Skiing Region of Angerberg and Mariastein fulfilled all of these requirements the Team of the Hohe Salve Holiday Region nominated the area this season for an Approval Award.

This means endless cross country skiing for all cross country skiing fans in the Hohe Salve Holiday Region. Both beginners and advanced and all styles of cross country skiers enjoy complete tranquillity in the natural alpine scenery … and we promise, you will be hooked! Courses and lessons are available all winter, as well as cross country skiing races… a real paradise for all cross country skiing fans.
